I have been thinking about this ever since I started to make my baby registry after finding out I was carrying twins. When I comes to the basic baby items why don’t they package them in even numbers? For instance I would either find a single onesie or pack of five. Baby bottle starter kits or if buying bottles alone, same issue. I ended up buying double of almost everything to get not only an even number but multiple of a specific item. It is not a huge deal but I figured worth talking about. Ideally I would love to see companies selling baby items start a line geared towards mom with multiples. Selling sets of clothing or packs in higher even number. Instead of a three piece outfit make it a six piece, for a mom with twins and nine piece for moms of triplets. Packs of onesies the same concept.
I feel like I personally would do less double clicking while online shopping and spend less time in the stores trying to finding two of the same outfits. Bottle shopping was not as bad as clothing shopping but still wound up buying four single bottles. I wanted to try the starter sets but they usually came in a set of three or five. So we just ended up buying the single bottles. I have been lucky when buying toys but my boys are still small. When ordering their toys online I just bought two of each. I did end up waiting for one of the toys I ordered to come in, which was a small bummer. If I would have the room I would have loved to buy a double crib. Seriously though how great would it be the see these major baby product companies coming out with lines of there products in portions for moms of multiples? Wonder if I am on to something? A mom can daydream right!? I would love to hear from other moms of multiples. Maybe there are some ideas or tricks I am missing out on.
I have these two sweet little cats that come to visit in my backyard. They love to go through our trash cans for food. I currently have two cats we rescued. It breaks my heart to see such small cats without a home. It is impossible for me to take them in. So I stalk and feed them every chance I get. (Chuckles) My husband and bigger kids think I am nuts. I peek out our back window at them every chance I get and hope they are out there. They do come around just about everyday. There are even some bigger cats that come when they do not. With the cold weather I do not see them as often. I have been freezing leftovers and putting them out for the kitties.
Any meats that do not get eaten get put out. Kind of like my version of eliminating leftovers. The cats love it. I love to watch them eat. Makes me feel like I am looking out for them. What must my neighbors think? Crazy cat stalker lady? Possibly….. The stray cat thing has been an issue for the past couple years in my neighborhood. That is how I got one of the two cats I rescued. They have so many spots to hid in and around our backyards. I guess until they stop coming I will stop putting leftovers out. I will definitely continue to window stalk these cats. A little something for my fellow cat lover or animal lovers.
As I previously said in my introduction posts I have four boys. My oldest son I had when I was sixteen the middle of tenth grade. My middle son I had at age twenty-four and my twins just seven months ago. While in my early thirties. I have lots of age gaps between my boys. I honestly cannot imagine having done it any other way. Currently I am running on fumes, coffee and chaos. Mornings in my house start at about 5:15 a.m. and start to return to normal once my middle son is at school and it is me and the twins alone.
From that time until my husband gets home from work I swear I am occasionally on autopilot. Ideally both boys would eat, nap and poop at the same time but….. No such luck for me. SO when one is asleep the other is awake and so on. You get what I am trying to say. Have I mentioned during all of this I am trying to figure out what to cook and when to cook dinner. I am definitely not complaining, just simply giving an idea of my day. After school ends, my husband is doing homework with our middle son and picking up our oldest at basketball practice. While I cook babies are in their high chairs or with dad. Definitely lots of teamwork going on. By bed time I can barely keep my head up and neither can he.
I have so much to say and have no clue where to start. I am a mother of 4 boys. I am “winging” almost everything. When it comes to juggling my children, work and husband. I also have lots to say about being a parent in my teens, twenties and now in my thirties. I learn something new everyday about myself, children and husband. Ok. Enough of that. I am also still trying to find that perfect balance in life and all of that jazz. Slowly but surely one hectic day at a time I’m getting there.
Motherhood, I know I know. There are tons of blogs about this topic. It is one of the best and scariest things that has ever happened to me. I have developed a great respect for everything my mother went through raising me and my sister. It could not have been easy on her. Just like it is certainly not easy on me.
I have 4 boys and day to day my patience is constantly being tested. I am outnumbered! They range in age from 15 years old through 7 months. I am also a first time twin mom. I have developed lots of special tricks when it comes to stretching food, buying baby products, budgeting and venting.
Just a little more about myself! Thanks for stopping by. 🖑
